The murder of Nicholas Mockford was a politically motivated crime. We are tracking this development closely and at this point believe that this executive may have been assassinated by anarchist elements. He was a high profile target of opportunity, easy to strike, and the foul deed would surely make the headlines. The killer is likely an ideologue with a record of anarchist associations and "direct action" involvement in political causes. We sadly opine that this sort of murder will become more common as the battle intensifies for control of industrialized nations. This sort of event was not uncommon in the early 20th century and in the 60's during the French/Algerian rebellion.
It will take the doughty Belgium constabulary a few long days and nights to dredge up persons of interest, but we also suspect that this was a very well planned operation of relatively low risk for the killer. He knew the target, had shadowed him for a period of time, moved in to execute the strike, and exfil'd via a carefully planned route with confederates facilitating movement and providing cover. That's the way jackals bring down their prey on the Serengeti.
