Macon Georgia has a justifiable reputation for preparedness, and Saturday October 13th more than 1,000 citizens turned out at the Macon Mall to learn more. Planning for the fair included inviting many local businesses and Fire/responders from the surrounding area. Our special thanks go to Donald Druitt Sr., Macon-Bobb EMA director, his able Deputy, Mark Wynn. We are also indebted to the local organizing committee including Angela Riley, Angela Pitts, David and Bonnie Canaday, and Tracy Tharpe. These good folks have demanding occupations and have given countless hours to bring this instructional opportunity to the Macon community. EMA and preparedness professionals from as far as Florida attended to trade ideas for similar activities in their areas.
We are on the road today, but will update and expand this post later this evening.

Macon- Bibb County Fire was a perfect host - it's hard to find a good place to park Big Bird - a 50 ft. long truck/trailer. We thank the 21st Bn, Chief Thomas, Lt. Daniels, and Lt. Ellison for their extraordinary hospitality and for sharing some great barbecue.
